How it is made

Cut fully on the bias with a French seam at the side and an adjustable strap. There is no zip; the dress goes on over the head. Because the grain runs at 45°, the fabric moves with the body rather than across it.

Fit notes

This piece was tried on by 2 people whose measurements differ materially. Verdicts come from a fixed set of three, so a note can only describe how the garment sat, never the person wearing it.

Close means the garment sat against the body at that point. True to measure means it matched the flat measurement. Relaxed means it stood away from the body. Hem drop when seated and overhead reach are measured, not estimated.

Measurements

Garment measured flat and doubled where relevant, in centimetres, EU sizing. Every figure carries a tolerance of plus or minus 1 cm, because cloth is cut in stacks and no two pieces are identical.

Cloth, care and origin

How this cloth behaves

  • Satin shows pressure marks. Seat creases and bag-strap lines appear within an hour and hang out overnight.
  • Cut on the bias, so the hem settles unevenly by up to 1.5 cm in the first days of wear. This is how the cut behaves and is not a fault.
Fibre composition
62% viscose, 38% cupro.

Care
Dry clean, solvent P. Do not wash. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron cool on the reverse.
